Patriots whup on the enver Broncos

Get it? The enver Broncos? Cuz they have no D!

I expected a shootout tonight, but the blowout was a pleasant surprise. Quick thoughts:

-I'm sick of all the football analysts acting like they have a clue about the Patriots QB situation. Last week Cassel didn't deserve to be in the league, and the Patriots were foolish for trusting him with the backup QB job. This week, he's turned the corner, and he knows how to run this offense. Blah blah blah....

-Of course, since we're praising Cassel this week, let's not make any mention of the 6 sacks he took. Ugh. I'll stay the course and just say he just doesn't have the pocket presence to play at a high level, and there's almost no way he wins a playoff game this year (if they even make the playoffs).

-Despite the blowout win, I can't help but feel a great sadness at seeing Rodney Harrison go down with what looked to be a serious knee injury (despite not being touched on the play). Given that this is the final year of his contract and he's 35 years old, there's a reasonable chance that play was his last snap as a Patriot. Despite his reputation as the "dirtiest player in the NFL," he was a really fun player to watch. I've never seen anyone play with so much raw intensity. He will be missed.

-It's sad, but I think I may actually get more enjoyment out of the Colts' suckage this season than I do out of any Patriot wins...
