What I'm watching this summer

No, not my neighbors--I'm referring to TV, of course. Not too much here.

-So You Think You Can Dance: I've talked about this show before. It's been quite good. Some really creative pieces on the show (and some skimpy costumes too). I've noticed the guys have been shirtless more often, which interests me less.

-Project Runway: Wacky Chinawife wanted to give this one a shot after enjoying the first episode (the designers made clothes out of grocery store items). I gotta say, this is a neat show if you like fashion (which I don't). I enjoy the creative aspect of it, and have a greater appreciation for how difficult it is to design clothes. The next two episodes were amusing, but not enough to make me stick with this show.

-Mad Men: I heard so many good things about this show (on AMC, of all channels!) that I made it a point to catch a few episodes. I could NOT get into it. I wonder if I'm in the wrong generation to appreciate this show.

-Burn Notice: Commercials made it look like a crappy cable action show on USA (a network not unfamiliar with crappy shows), but I read good things and gave it a chance. It's actually quite good! It's not life-changing or anything, but it's got snappy dialogue, cool "how to be a spy" moments, and Bruce Campbell. Very enjoyable.

Favre to the Jets?!?

I've been loosely following this ridiculous Favre drama, and I gotta say I didn't really see this as the endgame. Favre playing for the Jets? Dueling Brady twice a year? Being followed by the NYC tabloids? Wow. I can't wait until Favre turns the media against the Jets organization the first time he doesn't get his way.

Btw, I am in total agreement with Michael Silver's thoughts on Favre here. I found this writer irritating when he was at SI.com, but his style is starting to grow on me.

The Jets are looking reasonably strong this year--the easy schedule doesn't hurt. Still not terribly worried about them making a run at the division title though.
