OK, so the financial system looks like it's f**ked. But doesn't it seem like the Fed is trying to scare Congress into doing what they want? Paul Krugman offers his thoughts.

I can't say I like the way this bailout is going. It also makes me scared to death of the possibility of President McCain. When it comes to economic matters, I have no faith that he can make the decisions needed to put the country on the right track.
